Agreed Syllabus Conference Stephen Pett reassured the Council that work on the syllabus was progressing. He explained the outline of the syllabus and gave an update on the process:
· Three twilight sessions with teachers had been held and they had been asked for their views on the proposed headings for the syllabus. Feedback so far had been positive, · Schemes of work would be provided for schools to buy, · SACRE should think how they could support teachers as they began to use the new syllabus. Further twilight sessions could be useful. RE Today or Worcestershire County Council may need to be responsible for a helpline or website to give support to teachers. Barry Newton felt that there was good school to school support and teachers made use of an effective practice website which sign posted teachers to useful resources, · Conferences to launch the syllabus would take place on 21 and 22 May for Primary Schools and 24 June for Secondary schools.
The Agreed Syllabus Conference concluded at 3.15pm.
