Following agreement of the proposals for Organisational Re-Design at Council in September 2019, an Appointments Panel on 27 September approved the approach for appointments to the Chief Officer posts in accordance with the Council’s policies.  Consultation commenced with all Chief Officers and recognised Trade Unions on 4 October and closed on 2 November 2019.

Under Re-Design the posts of Strategic Commissioner Major Projects and Head of Strategic Infrastructure and Economy were deleted, and a new post of Assistant Director for Economy, Major Projects and Waste was created.  The post holders were placed in a ‘ring fenced’ situation for the new post.  Following the end of the consultation one of the candidates had decided to withdraw from the process.  The remaining candidate had confirmed that they wished to be considered for the post.

The Panel agreed to confirm the appointment of Rachel Hill as Assistant Director for Economy, Major Projects and Waste.

RESOLVED: that the appointment of Rachel Hill to the post of Assistant Director for Economy, Major Projects and Waste be confirmed.
